I ran away from home constantly when I was younger. Abusive father, useless mother. The worst part of my running away was that I wouldn't go far. I'd hide in the attic or in the garage or sometimes in the backyard behind the shed. I used to listen to my mother freaking out talking to child services and the police. Sometimes I'd find it hard to keep quiet because I'd be laughing while listening to my mother cry.
